“Thank you so much for the opportunity of allowing me to participate in the Silver DofE. I absolutely loved experiencing the DofE and being in the nature. I actually didn’t mind being away from my phone.

But I really appreciated the chance to complete it as it gave me a sense of accomplishment. Not only this but it has helped me develop some of my skills like team working, mapping skills and communication. I also now really appreciate people who do hiking all the time as it was difficult at times for Silver.

Also to add I really appreciated taking part in the Silver as I couldn’t afford to do the Bronze as financially, I couldn’t afford it.“

“Thank you so much for your funding to help with my further art education. This week I had my first tutorial with my mentor, award winning, contemporary British Artist, Sarah Pickstone. I work with Sarah for 45 mins to an hour every other week. These tutorials take place in my studio space and involve critical discussions about my work and the direction my paintings are taking. I’ve learned a lot from her already and feel incredibly lucky to have her guidance.”

“Doug Horley came to our school on 17th March, he was so entertaining and funny we loved everything he did especially the science! He did tons of songs with us some including sign language for example Tidal Wave. He did come on the last day of British science week so of course he did much science also!….Overall, we thought he was so fun and definitely should come to our school again.”

“I really enjoyed both of the expeditions that I got to go on during DofE. I feel like it has really built my character, such as gaining confidence in a team. It improved my relationships with my friends, as we got to experience time together whilst working with each other. It really challenged me, as you have to double check and make sure you’re making the right decisions. Overall, I’m really happy I went on the trips, and I have made cherish able memories.

I did well on Bronze DofE and wanted to do Silver, but the price was not very affordable, so thank you for helping me with the funding. If I didn’t have the help, I wouldn’t have been able to experience this. So, Thank You Lytham School Foundation for giving me this opportunity. I really hope this continues for other children like me to experience these memories as well.“
